What will we do today?

There is plenty to keep you and your family busy when you choose Two Morrows Tahoe Cabin as your vacation rental home. Beautiful Lake Tahoe and Sugar Pine Point State Park, with its Ehrman Mansion and cross-country ski tracks, are only a few blocks away from our ski cabin. The Desolation Wilderness is also within walking distance. Like to hike? Try a portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Or check out the many trail-heads near our mountain cabin. Fragrant forests with hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails surround our mountain cabin in an area known for its natural beauty.

Stroll over to our Tahoe Cedars Homeowners Association’s private white sand beach and pier for swimming, sunbathing or catching crawdads with the kids.

Nearby shops and galleries will nourish you and meet most every need. Take a relaxing walk and visit small local stores and restaurants. Be sure to check out our Marie Sluchak Park with its playgound, stage and theater seating. Check the bulletin board there for a schedule of movies and programs.

Bring your bikes and take a ride to Squaw Valley USA and Olympic Valley. Check out the beach and food at Chambers Landing, dine at the Sunnyside Restaurant, swim at Meeks Bay Beach, see the stream profile, and hike around D.L. Bliss State Park.  Watch the salmon spawn in the fall!  Take a trail to the beach. Stop at Camp Richardson, Valhalla, Baldwin Beach, dog-friendly Kiva Beach, Pope Beach, or the Tallac Picnic Area, which allows leashed dogs. Tour the Vikingsholm at Emerald Bay.

In Tahoe City, check out the Gatekeeper’s Museum and the Watson Cabin Living Museum. In Truckee, visit the Emigrant Trail Museum.

There are events and activites going on year-round in the Lake Tahoe area. See the Attraction Guide. For a month-by-month listing of events, consult the Event Guide. Or check out this website for West Shore action: Tahoe’s Magical West Shore.

Looking for downhill skiing and boarding?  The nearest downhill ski resort for is only three miles from our ski cabin at Homewood Mountain Resort. Those with Olympian spirits might prefer the challenge at Squaw Valley USA, home of the 1960 Olympics, a short drive from our Tahoma ski cabin.  There are many world-class ski resorts in the Tahoe Basin, such as Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, and Northstar within reach of our Lake Tahoe ski cabin.  Or try out some of the smaller ski areas around Lake Tahoe such as Incline or Boreal Ridge or Granlibakken.

Looking for more winter fun? Try some of the local snow parks and ice rinks. See  Lake Tahoe Activities. And don’t forget about North Lake Tahoe’s annual Snowfest.

If you run out of ideas, consult the books about activities and local history that you will find at our mountain cabin. And “friend” us on Facebook.  We post information about local events around Tahoe there.
